Smart Financial Centre books one funny duo in its continuing lineup of big names
After hopping from Indianapolis to Santa Barbara and points in between, the intermittent Steve Martin and Martin Short tour is making its way to Sugar Land's Smart Financial Centre on April 7, 2017.
This is third big name talent booked for the $84 million entertainment center with Jerry Seinfield inked for January 14 and Don Henley on tap for January 15, both part of the grand opening weekend.
“We are creating a lineup of first-class performances – concerts, comedy, family entertainment, theatrically-staged productions, Bollywood and other cultural entertainers – that will appeal to all types of audiences,” Randy Bloom, Smart Financial Centre GM, tells CultureMap. “We're bringing a line-up of dynamic performances that will make the Smart Financial Centre Houston’s premiere entertainment destination.”
Tickets go on sale Friday for the Steven Martin/Martin Short show dubbed "An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life." Joining the comedians will be the Grammy Award-winning bluegrass band The Steep Canyon Rangers. Tickets can be reserved at Ticketmaster.com and Smartfinancialcentre.net.
Billboard's take on the show recently presented in Santa Barbara: "The Borscht Belt and bluegrass music were never exactly synonymous, but, in their current tour as a musical-comedy duo, Steve Martin and Martin Short make the distance between the Catskills and the Appalachians seem a lot shorter. "
