Defending Snooki (yes, really): Crashing into a cop car is easier than you'dthink
Oh, Snooki. What have you done now?
America's favorite Guidette found herself in a tight spot on Monday when the car she was driving in Florence, Italy, found itself wedged between a police car and a highway wall.
Ironically, the police car was escorting Snooki and her passenger, fellow Jersey Shore cast member Deena Cortese, for safety reasons. No major injuries were reported, but the two officers in the car were taken to the hospital due to whiplash.
Although various outlets reported that Snooki had been arrested, she was only taken to the local police station to fill out paperwork and wait for her International Driving Permit, which she did not have with her at the time of the accident, to be delivered so authorities could look at it.
The petite reality star's license has now been revoked by the Italian authorities, and the two officers injured in the fender bender have 90 days to file a civil suit.
We can't help but feel a little sorry for the wee New Yorker. Tests showed no alcohol in Snooki's system (no small upset in itself) and no charges were filed.
Anyone who has operated a motor vehicle in Europe knows how difficult it can be, and anyone who has been a passenger in a motor vehicle in Europe knows how terrifying it can be.
Roads in Europe tend to be significantly narrower than what we are accustomed to in the United States, and it probably doesn't help that Snooki can barely see over the steering wheel.
Snooki and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast are in Florence (where they have racked up 300 Euro worth of traffic tickets in three weeks) to film the fourth season of the controversial hit MTV show.
