Rev That Engine
5 reasons why you should brake for this year's Houston Auto Show
Auto enthusiasts, start your engines: The 36th annual Houston Auto Show is back at NRG Center this weekend, January 23-27. Not only is this a gathering of nearly all the top car and truck brands, the family-friendly show provides onsite entertainment and plenty of food and drink.
Here are five other things to know before you go.
1. It's the largest show ever
With more than 800 vehicles and experts from more than 40 automakers, this year's show is a must-attend event for auto-enthusiasts, car or truck shoppers, or anyone just seeking a good time at a great event.
2. You can party while previewing
There will be a preview party on Tuesday, January 22, from 7-10 pm. Featuring live music, cocktails, and tasty cuisine in addition to a first look at the autos, the event is open to the public, with ticket proceeds supporting Texas Children's Hospital. And make sure your linen suit is pressed and ready — the theme this year is Havana Nights.
3. Be the first to see new releases
Eager to get a look at the recently announced 2020 Jeep Gladiator or the all-new Ram Heavy Duty truck? You'll be the first in Texas to see these and other high-demand vehicles. Additional featured vehicles include the BMW i8 electric convertible and the Audi e-tron, to name a few.
4. Take a test drive (or several)
The Houston Auto Show is the only auto show where guests can test drive more than 80 vehicles in one place. No matter what you're looking forward to putting in gear, you'll likely find it waiting for you at the show.
5. Admire classic cars
In addition to the new and now, there will be more than 50 classic cars on display. See how yesteryear's classics inspired the vehicles of today.
