Katy-area residents eager to give their fur babies their best lives now have a chic new option. Pucci Café & Pet Boutique has opened in Katy’s bustling LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch destination.

Highly anticipated in the community since it was announced last year, the new store and cafe boasts a 2,500-square-foot, multi-level, pet-friendly patio overlooking Cinco Ranch Lake. A fenced-in, supervised dog run and play area lets doggos spend their day cavorting while their parents spend their money in the store/cafe.

About that store/cafe: Humans can shop doggy spa products that are promised to be free of genetically modified organisms and harsh chemicals. Other high-end wares include bejeweled collars, pet jewelry, exclusive dog carriers, couture clothing, and more.

Extra attention was paid to interiors; those were designed by acclaimed Houston firm gin design group. Curvy millwork, accent lighting, and cascading greenery evoke a European vibe, mixed with plush textiles in jewel tones with houndstooth accents. A vertical living green wall blooms at the entrance (owners may want to keep their pooches from spending too much time here, hint-hint).

Pucci boasts an expansive patio for pets and parents.

As for the cafe, two-legged patrons can sip coffees, teas, specialty beers, and wine, and nosh pastries, charcuterie board items, and other sharable options. Pups can delight in the gourmet dog bakery, where tasty, specialty treats await.

Owners Maria and Bobby Davidson hope to entice area shoppers to lounge in the cafe as well as the expansive patio. Aside from a remote, bring-your-dog-to-work space and after-work hangout, Pucci promises a spot for those customized dog birthday parties and “Gotcha Day” celebrations.

Pucci will operate with limited hours for the next two weeks (9 am to 7 pm), with updates to follow.

“Think of Pucci as a destination to pamper your dog and experience delicious beverages on the lakeview patio with your pup,” said Maria Davidson. “Luxury, inviting, fun — we have it all.” Another selling point: 5 percent of every sale goes to support rescue efforts.

Now that’s some swag to make ‘em wag.
