or stick it back in the attic
It's an age-old holiday question: toss the Christmas tree the day after — or leave it up until early 2019?
For Houstonians opting for the former, starting Wednesday, December 26, trees can be disposed of at one of the city's free-drop off recycling sites.
Those who receive trash pick-up from the City of Houston can place trees on the curb. However, that option is only available on designated tree waste days.
The City of Houston offers this friendly — and apparently necessary — reminder: Anyone tossing a Christmas tree should first remove the lights and ornaments.
If curbside tree removal isn't an option, the City of Houston offers these recycling sites:
9003 N. Main St.; 77022
14400 Sommermeyer St,; 77041
5565 Kirkpatrick Blvd.; 77028
5100 Sunbeam St.; 77033
10785 SW Freeway; 77074
2240 Central St.; 77017
