Houston's tap water ranked a low number 95 out of 100 U.S. utilities, according to a report by the Environmental Working Group.
Granted, Houston's data stops at 2007, so there is a chance our water quality has improved. But as of two years ago, Houston tap water contained 18 chemicals in levels exceeding the health risk limit (the national average was four), and a whopping 46 total contaminants since 2004 (compared to the national average of eight).
Maybe this explains those three-headed catfish you sometimes see in the bayou.
