Late night Midtown Randalls parking lot confrontation leaves victim with 20 stabwounds
A bizarre early morning confrontation outside the Randalls in Midtown landed a man in the hospital with multiple stab wounds on Tuesday.
Houston Police Department spokesperson Kese Smith says the incident occurred around 2:35 a.m. when a two employees approached an apparent homeless man who recently set up camp in the grocery store parking lot.
"The man began yelling profanities and walked down Hadley. That's when he said something about the victim's mom, who is ill."
The three had a brief discussion about cars before the conversation got ugly. The Randalls workers asked the 22-year-old suspect, named Joshua Davis, to leave the premises several times.

The worker whose mother was insulted began to argue with Davis, who attempted to throw a punch before pulling out a small knife and stabbing the Randalls employee multiple times.
The suspect ran off on foot, only to be captured by police nearby on the 1600 block of Pierce. He now faces pending charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The Randalls worker — identified as Ramon Martinez, 26 — was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was reportedly treated for 20 stab wounds, according to CBS Houston. Thankfully, he is expected to live.
