A Pumped Up July 4th
Houston Rodeo is two stepping into the summer: New festival to include musicacts
- Get ready for The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's summer break extravaganza!
- Reliant Center, site of the first Houston's Hot Summer Break, set July 4-8, 2012
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is extending its reach — into summer.
A new summertime festival, called Houston's Hot Summer Break, is launching this year from July 4 through 8 with most of the trappings we've come to love from the Houston Rodeo — food, beer, wine, booze, shopping and, of course, live music.
The all-indoor event (it's Houston in July, after all) will be held inside Reliant Center and include cocktail competitions and a home brewing competition as well as cooking demos and wine seminars.
Proceeds from the five-day event, which will include musical performances by artists in a variety of genres, from DJs to blues and jazz, will benefit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and its scholarship programs for Texas students.
Tell us: Would you be open to a Rodeo festival in July?
