METRORail to shut down for the whole weekend: Get ready for the bus

On Friday night at 8 p.m. METRORail will close its doors until midnight Sunday, so Texas Children's Hospital can finish construction on a pedestrian bridge on the weekend.

Take the METRORail on the weekend? No fear, METRO buses will be ready to meet you at stops next to the rail line.

In downtown Houston, buses will run on Travis (northbound) and Fannin (southbound) between UH-Downtown and the Downtown Transit Center. At the Texas Medical Center, buses will run on Main Street between the Texas Medical Center and Cambridge Street.

The rail will shut down again the weekend of Dec. 17-19.
