Pet of the Week
Meet Thor the tenacious Tibetan spaniel, CultureMap's pet of the week
Name: Thor, as in the Norse God of Thunder, also, the nicknamed New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard.
Birthdate: September 10, 2008.
Ethnicity: I'm a Tibetan spaniel mix fella. To wrap up Adopt a Senior Pet Month, I'm a real silver fox, except I'm mostly black with a distinguished tuft of white on my chest.
Get it? I'm black and I'm available for adoption on Black Friday. It's all coming together now.
I'm on the small-medium side, only 20 pounds, so I've got a good stretch of years ahead of me. I'm easy going with a devilish streak. I'm healthy, a good watchdog, trained to "sit" on command and best of all, I'm pre-housebroken. Once I get the lay of the land, I'll sit by the door when I need to go out. Pretty nifty trick right there. I hung around older kids and teens in my former home, so if you've got little ones, bring them down to CAP to meet me first. I'm an awesome pet, but I'd prefer to be the only dog in the house.
One more thing, Adopt a Senior Pet Month is a two-way street. If you're a senior human looking for a pet, I'm free for you.
Come and get me: I'm available for adoption at 11 am Friday, November 16 at Citizens for Animal Protection (17555 Katy Freeway; 281-497-0591). Tell them, "Ken sent me."
Thor's thoughts: Because we're heading into the holidays, I'll make this brief, so you can get back to the kitchen. Bottom line, I have too many friends, and I need to drop a few.
The deciding factor, if you call the traditional Thanksgiving side dish "dressing," I'm done with you. It's "stuffing."
