Today marks the second to last time in the next 89 years that users of the Gregorian calendar can enjoy a numerical date with identical triple digits.
While we've had the phenomenon for a solid decade (and have one more next year), 11/11/11 is certainly the coolest of its triple-numbered siblings. Without those pesky zeros or twos in the way, it's just a pure stretch of ones. Still not convinced? Well, it's Veterans Day too . . .

The renowned Berklee College of Music posted a Happy Nigel Tufnel Day note on its website.
In Korea, the date has had a lasting impact on government record keeping, as expecting mothers rushed to hospitals requesting Caesarean section deliveries. All children both on this day received a Korean Resident Registration Number beginning with 111111.
