Get in the holiday spirit with The Galleria's 30th Annual Ice Spectacular
The holidays is upon us — more specifically, Christmas is upon us.
To get you in the spirit, The Galleria recently put the finishing touches on its 55-foot Christmas tree, which will be officially lit up for the mall's 30th Annual Ice Spectacular, happening this Saturday, November 10.
The stats are impressive: Fifty men and women plowed through a day of work in order to hang the 450,000 twinkling lights and 5,000 ornaments, on more than 1,000 branches that were hand-fluffed by individuals starting in September. Santa Claus — or someone who looks just like him — will officially light the tree for this event.
This 45-minute tree-lighting show will also include a live performance from Angelica Hale, an 11-year-old singer from Atlanta who was also runner-up from season 12 of America's Got Talent. Hale has performed all over the world, was a featured performer in the 91st Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the 50th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Commemoration.
The event will culminate with the tree lighting by Santa (who will also be skating, as part of an ice-skating show) and a fireworks display. While all of this will happen in the evening, families can still hang at the Galleria during the day and take in activities such as face painting and balloon art, live entertainment, and in-store events, starting at noon.
