Houston police are looking for three suspects who killed one man and wounded another at a Denny's restaurant on Washington Avenue near I-10 Monday night. Authorities released surveillance photos of the three armed black males with their faces concealed by bandanas or masks.
Robert G. Placette, 64, of Katy, was shot to death during the robbery. An unidentified employee, 43, is recovering from non life-threatening wounds that he sustained while trying to flee through the front door as the robbery progressed.
According to customer and employee accounts, the three men entered the restaurant at around 10:40 p.m. and immediately fired several shots. Police say they ordered all customers and employees to the floor and demanded their property. They fled the scene in an unknown minivan.
