New boutique gym promising 'revolutionary' results presses into Sugar Land
The Inner Loop is booming with hot boutique fitness gyms, with new offerings such as Barry’s Boot Camp, Revolution Studio, and TruFusion. But what about those who want a better bod in the ’burbs?
To the rescue comes REV365, which has quietly opened in Sugar Land. The boutique fitness studio combines cardio, strength training, and high intensity interval training with body composition analysis technology. The gym strives to help locals achieve an optimal workout in less than an hour per session.
Fitness junkies will note that REV365 is one of only two fitness centers in the U.S. to offer members access to the InBody 770, a medical-grade body composition and water analyzer. This machine provides in-depth body analysis by measuring fat mass, muscle mass, and water levels in less than a minute.
In addition to fitness measurables, the machine can detect if a person is at a higher risk for heart disease and diabetes. The InBody also measures base metabolic rate, the muscle to fat ratio in one’s right leg compared to the left leg, the visceral fat area, and more. Cloud software allows clients to view and manage their results and track their progress.
The 3,000-square-foot REV365 studio boasts assault bikes; VersaClimbers (a favorite of stars like Lebron James and Lady Gaga); rowers; treadmills; weights; and digital screens displaying an animated instructor demonstrating each floor exercise for the class, so members can access everything they need in one place.
The REV365 concept was created by co-owners Lorie Fowler and Blake Propst after years spent at fitness studios not seeing the results they expected, according to a release. Fowler and Propst say that they dreamed of creating an effective fitness concept that people could safely implement 365 days a year, with a focus on building a community.
“We’ve created a unique program that combines the most effective types of exercise in a way that will help members see payoff from their hard work,” said Propst, in a statement. “This approach, combined with insight from our body composition analysis machine, gives our members a better understanding of how their bodies are transforming.”
