Continental makes another Houston move: Impulse trips to Nigeria are within yourreach
Jun 14, 2010 | 4:22 pm
When Continental Airlines announced its merger with United (and its headquarter's consequential move to Chicago) Houston shook in its recession-bruised boots.
But it appears the new, bigger airline is doing nothing but adding business to its largest hub, announcing plans today to begin daily non-stop service to Lagos, Nigeria in November 2011. Officials are emphasizing the business benefits of a direct flight to the oil-rich African city.
The new flight will make Houston one of just four cities in the world, and the only city in the Western Hemisphere, to offer nonstop service to every inhabited continent. Just a few weeks ago, Continental put Hobbits in reach, unveiling plans for non-stop flights to New Zealand.
