University of Houston slam poet gets kudos from Amy Poehler for speaking out against discrimination

Smart Girls at the Party, the web series from comedienne Amy Poehler, Houston-bred TV producer Meredith Walker and singer-songwriter Amy Miles, does more than give adolescent females an outlet for their weirdness.
It also provides advice on countering discrimination from wise elders who have been there and done that.
In "Queen, Jacks, Hearts and Spades," a spoken word piece posted to the Girls of the World YouTube channel earlier this week, University of Houston student Mahnoor Samana draws inspiration from her experience with racism in high school.
