Louboutin, Oscar de la Renta & French mirrors: What's left of former Mayor Bob &Elyse Lanier belongings in big sale
A designer bedroom set, antique paintings, two exquisite French mirrors, fine china, clothes and accouterments by Dolce & Gabbana, Diane von Furstenberg, Manolo Blahnik, a one-of-akind Alexandra Wright and a Louis Vuitton satchel to die for . . .
Hundreds of shopaholics have already rummaged through former Houston Mayor Bob Lanier's and his wife Elyse's belongings at Judy Robinson's showroom at the Houston Design Center. But don't be discouraged, there's good stuff left — that's if you are on the market for custom decorative art, haute couture and timeless odds and ends.
CultureMap's Shelby Hodge was first to report that the high-profile couple had sold their 13,386-square-foot River Oaks manor in March. Moving into an Inwood Manor condominium didn't leave much room for 27 years of accumulated possessions.
As the sale comes to a close Saturday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), CultureMap was on the scene to interview auctioneer doyen Robinson, who gave us a video tour (above) and showed us what's up for grabs.
