Post Oak Boulevard gets a little greener with large new tree
The new Skanska USA skyscraper on Post Oak Boulevard, across from the Gerald D. Hines Waterwall, will open this summer. But officials got a jump start on beautifying the area by planting a 25-foot Heritage Oak tree in front of the 20-story tower Monday in honor of Earth Day.
The new building promises to be one of the city's greenest, with LEED-Platinum status, the highest rating for energy efficiency offered by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The first announced tenant, Datacert, will occupy the 10th and 11th floors of the 300,000-square-foot tower.
