University of Houston student attacked in campus women's bathroom: Creep appears in mirror
Campus police at the University of Houston are on high alert after a student was attacked by an unknown man in a women's restroom Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred just after 8 p.m., as the student was washing her hands in a restroom located on the second floor of Agnes Arnold Hall, a central academic building which houses UH's College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS).
The woman told university officials that she spotted the suspect standing directly behind her in the mirror. When she screamed, the man put his hands over her mouth.
The woman told university officials that she spotted the suspect standing directly behind her in the mirror. When she screamed, the man put his hands over her mouth, but lost his grip as the woman kicked him and ran from the room. Campus security searched the vicinity, but were unable to find the attacker.
University spokesperson Richard Bonnin tells CultureMap that the woman was uninjured. The suspect remains at large, as UH police continue to gather information.
Tuesday's attack comes less than two weeks after another student was tackled by robbers near the university's Alumni Athletic Building. The pair of suspects ran off with the victim's wallet and remain on the loose.
