Gunfight breaks out at Midtown's hot new nightclub: Shooter on the run
A fight at a popular Midtown nightclub led to gunfire early Monday, leaving one man seriously injured and another on the run.
Witnesses at Limelight, located at San Jacinto and McIlhenny, tell investigators with the Houston Police Department that the two men clashed inside the club before taking the argument out to the parking lot.
The alleged shooter stormed out of the nightclub and got in his car. The second man stepped outside to receive two or three shots in the chest and the suspect quickly fled the scene.
KHOU Channel 11 reports that the victim was rushed to an area hospital just before 3 a.m. with serious injuries. His condition remains unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact HPD.
Taking over the space formerly occupied by nightclub stalwart Rich's, Limelight threw open its doors in November to much fanfare among Houston club-goers.
In two short months, the new club has delivered some of the biggest names in dance music — including Russian DJ Arty, rapper Tyga and Sharam of legendary dance duo Deep Dish — and hosted big-ticket parties featuring the likes of Houston Rockets star James Harden and Kourtney Kardashian beau Scott Disick.
