A car smashes into Hermann Park's kids mini train: Yes, Houston's car train crash problem is growing
The Hermann Park railroad cuts across all demographics. In our car obsessed city where the merits of light rail are vigorously debated, it's the one train that every seems to like.
While Houstonians have a well-documented fondness for running into the METRORail, the Hermann Park railroad has typically been spared from those shenanigans.
Until Sunday.
Various images of the train and a Honda Accord colliding are making the rounds on social media. KHOU reports that no one was hurt. Although, presumably, someone's pride took a pretty severe beating from being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
CultureMap contacted the Houston Police Department for more information: Who was at fault? How does someone miss the train? But, alas, the public information office is closed for Martin Luther King Day.
Remember, if the gates at a railroad crossing are going down, just wait for the train to pass. Even small ones pack a big wallop.
