Pet of the Week
Meet Will, the lovable Labrador retriever, CultureMap's pet of the week

Name: Will, as in Good Will Hunting (never saw it), former Fresh Prince now superstar Will Smith, one of my favorite first basemen Will “The Thrill” Clark, political wonk George Will, and Saturday Night Live legend, Will Ferrell.
Birthdate: November 25, 2018. That’s about one year for most breeds, but us Labrador retrievers usually take a little longer to reach maturity. So count on a little puppy rambunctiousness for at least another year. Remember the Donny Osmond remake, “Puppy Love?” That’s me.
Ethnicity: There’s no getting ‘round it. I’m a big boy — 59 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal. I’m an energetic lad, so a calm walk around the block ain’t gonna cut it. I’ve got an idea, let’s go to a dog park. But find one with supervision, unlike you-know-where. I love to play tug-o-war, which was once an Olympic medal sport, no joke.
I don’t like being left alone, no crate for me, so I’m looking for a home with kids or another active doggie. I’m playful, affectionate, and just an all-around great dog. Get this, I’m housebroken! And I’m fixed, which isn’t to say that I was broken, just … you know, snip-snip. Remember, where there's a Will, there's a way — for you to take me home.
Now, a cautionary tail: Last week, a certain someone bought a Groupon deal for a haircut at Guru Barbers on Bellaire Boulevard. The deal was, only $9 for a regularly priced $40 cut. Great, right? Except for one small detail … Guru Barbers closed several weeks ago. Our friend went there, coupon in hand, only to wind up at a nearby chop shop. So before you buy a Groupon, do your due diligence. (Better safe than shaggy.)
Come and get me: I'm available for adoption at 11 am Friday, January 10, at Citizens for Animal Protection (17555 Katy Freeway; 281-497-0591). Tell them, "Ken sent me."
