Via Colori Celebrates
Via Colori celebrates 10 years of bringing art to the streets of Houston — plus fashion, music, wine & pets!
With a puppy fashion show, fabulous murals by artists from all over the world including Italy, Mexico, California and Houston, and three stages with live entertainment and music, including Runway Sun, all day, Houston Via Colori — celebrating its 10th anniverary— is one of the best things to happen to Houston this month.
The street painting festival with live music in the heart of downtown Houston (around the reflecting pool at Hermann Square in front of City Hall) takes place on Saturday (November 21) from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday (November 22) from 10 am to 5 p.m.
This year, look for 10 featured works of art around the festival, celebrating different parts of the past decade, in addition to the more than 200 original murals.
Now a signature art festival in Houston, Via Colori draws 25,000 to 30,000 attendees each year and raises more than $400,000 annually for The Center for Hearing and Speech as the non-profit organziation helps local children with hearing loss.
“Via Colori through the years has raised 3.2 million dollars for The Center for Hearing and Speech, while giving us a platform to grow our circle of friends and educate the public about hearing loss and how to prevent it, says event founder Natalie Vuckovic. "When we began I would never have guessed it would become what it is now. But, now I know that through artist, sponsor and community support the sky is the limit!”
"We’re most excited for the LB Lounge presented by Kroger, where we’ll get to present the Posh Pets and Pinot mini event on Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm. Combining some of our favorite things: Houston, fashion, art, wine, music and pets."
In the ticketed LB lounge, guests will enjoy six mini-events on the porch of City Hall. Saturday's mini-events are breakfast and Besos brunch, Post Pets & Pinots presented by CultureMap, and Starry Night with Stella Artois, which allows guests to stay at the festival and stroll through the art-lit luminaries.
Sunday's mini-events are Bubbly Brunch with Barefoot, a Touchdown Viewing Part, and Cheers to 10 Years Birthday Party for the festival.
Tickets are available on the Via Colori website. Use the promo code CULTUREMAP@VC for 20 percent off LB Lounge tickets. (General admission to Via Colori is free; tickets to the LB Lounge are $50 each day or $80 for both days. 100 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales go directly to The Center for Hearing and Speech.)
With great weather predicted for this weekend, plan to stop by Houston Via Colori to see artists transform asphalt into beautiful art like you've never seen before. All for a great cause!
