Author of cheeky guide to dating and sex in your 20s celebrates book launch with style
What: Book release party for Oops! An Insider’s Guide to Dating, Sex & Relationships in your 20s.
Where:Americas - River Oaks.
The scoop: Houston-based style blogger Julie Weinstein (From Prosecco to Plaid) recently marked the launch of her debut paperback, written under pen name Julie Lauren, with a signing party at America’s in River Oaks.
Nearly 100 guests turned out to mingle, nosh (bites from the Pan Latin restaurant’s kitchen included a variety of empanadas), purchase the book — a cheeky guide for men and women on how to navigate the ups and downs of dating and relationships — and chat with Weinstein as she autographed copies. She describes the book as Sex and the City meets He’s Just Not That Into You. It’s very real, very blunt, at some parts very (embarrassingly) funny."
In a heartfelt touch, close friends and fellow bloggers Megan Silianoff and Candace Thomassurprised the new author with a cake from Three Brothers Bakery designed in a replica of the book cover.
Toasting the occasion,Weinstein raised a glass and thanked her supporters. As guests departed, they were given cake pops from Sweet E’s Bakery in Los Angeles, topped with red, white and black icing in another nod to the book cover, as party favors.
