Ebola fighter wows The Women's Fund gathering of moms and their daughters

The scoop: Ebola fighter and TIME magazine's Person of the Year in 2014, Katie Meyler, who founded the More Than Me foundation in Liberia in 2009 and the Academy in 2013, was guest speaker. The first in her family to attend college, Meyler was interviewed by luncheon co-chair Gina Gaston Elie.
Elie was joined by her daughter, Lauren, and Kelli Cohen Fein and her daughter, Jordan, as co-chairs of the luncheon that drew a crowd of 350, 110 of whom were daughters, and raised more than $140,000. Mary Ann McKeithan served as honorary chair.
Bain Pearson Pitts was recipient of the inaugural Sue Trammell Whitfield Award for Resiliency.
