Armandos rocks with birthday bash for a gal who makes 55 the new 35
The milestone birthday parties are stacking up around town as Houston's leading ladies continue to belie the decades. After two smashing 80th birthday celebrations, we thought we'd share what 55 looks like when the party gods are in a good mood.
Fashion blogger Beth Muecke, who looks every bit as young as her youthful son (Harrison) and daughter (Kendra) who live in Los Angeles, took over Armandos last Sunday afternoon for a rockin' celebration that included DJ Jason Farr (of Armandos' Thursday night disco fame), bottomless margaritas and sangrias and plenty of the restaurant's popular Tex-Mex fare.
The turnout was a vibrant cross-section of movers and shakers ranging from Diane Lokey Farb to hipster Michael Soliz. Throw in pink-haired Heart of Fashion founder Vivian Wise, model agency honchos Page Parkes and Jeff Shell and Beth's more conservative BFF Liz Decker and you begin to get the picture.
Adding eye candy to the partying were spirited friends of the birthday girl's kids, creating a glam youth tableau. These included Samantha Evans, Chris Nunley, Will Decker, Katie Lemon, Matt Vandever, Brooke Evans and true hipsters Joubaier Joubert, Becky Hollands and Fabrizio Consiglio.
The real sweets came in the form of cupcakes, delivered from Rise Cupcakes in Friendswood, topped with fashionista logos including Chanel's interlocking CCs and Louis Vuitton's LV and strands of pearls.
Sunday Funday party animals included Bubba McNeeley, Debbie Festari, Becky and Todd Guest, Victoria Zavala, Nicole Lassiter, Neal Hamil, Jerri Moore, Cathy Echols, Chloe Nieto, Elise Nieto, Marian Cisarik and Jaquel and Jeremy Andrews and many more.
