Nordstrom has always been big on customer service, but with the addition of its newest store in The Woodlands, the Seattle-based retailer is attempting to elevate that idea even more. The new Woodlands Nordstrom opened to much fanfare Friday.
The loft-like 138,000-square foot space in The Woodlands Mall is big on architectural lines, natural light and interior spaces that can be easily rearranged to accommodate changing merchandise. The solid surface floor is accented with rugs and the ceilings are exposed, revealing pipes and lighting.

It’s a fresh look that complements the new personalized additions to the store.
The beauty department’s makeover includes a Beauty Concierge, a centrally located destination where shoppers can inquire about items for their specific needs with no pressure to purchase. The creation of the Beauty Concierge came after feedback from shoppers who felt overwhelmed by all the choices and needed some no-hassle direction.
“The Beauty Concierge can write recommendations, answer questions and point you in the right direction of what you are looking for,” Jessica Canfield, Nordstrom public relations spokesperson says.
And if a shopper isn’t sure if that berry lipstick or foundation shade is a keeper, Nordstrom makeup artists will make a sample for you on the spot.
There's also the chance to slip to the back of the Beauty Department to a private space for eyebrow waxing and facials offered by various cosmetic and skin care companies. The Woodlands Nordstrom store carries a wide selection of Jo Malone fragrances, candles and soaps not available at The Galleria store.
Nordstrom shoppers will find the dressing rooms have a fresh look, with colorful places to put up your feet and “Girlfriend” dressing areas that allow shoppers to try clothing on and then pull back curtains to ask your BFF to honestly critique what you’re wearing.
The retailer deemed The Woodlands store a perfect location for its Bazille dining concept, a full-service bistro and one of just three in the country. Nordstrom’s culinary team from Seattle created and fine-tuned the menu which includes everything from salad to steaks. Bazille offers a full bar, an outside patio and is open during regular store hours.
The highly-anticipated opening weekend continues with Austin-based design darling Isabella Rose Taylor. The 13-year-old designer unveils her clothing line, exclusive to Nordstrom and will be styling shoppers for fall from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in Nordstrom’s Juniors BP department.
The new Nordstrom in The Woodlands stocks everything from apparel and accessories to baby gear and cosmetics.
