Houston's social set unleashes the party spirit with man's best friends at K9s4COPS kickoff
What: Kick-off Party for "Unleashed."
Where: Tasting Room Uptown Park.
The 411: After a summer with much of Houston's society set out of town, it seems that everyone's back and ready to unleash their party spirit. That was the scene Monday night where a crowd of 150 jammed the Uptown Park watering hole to tout "Unleashed," a gala benefiting K9s4COPS on October 27 at the newly named Bayou City Events Center and honoring Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman, who was at the kickoff.
Event chair Laurie Krohn and honorary chair K9s4COPS founder Kristi Schiller welcomed the throng and did some birthday celebrating a couple of days early for Krohn's hubby, Tracy Krohn, with a cake from Moeller's Bakery.
Ten percent of the drink tab was donated to K9s4COPS as part of the bar's charity night, which occurs on the last Monday of every month.
Outside, a number of Harris County Sheriffs Office cars had their hoods up and the a/c in full force to keep the celebrity canines cool before they mingled with guests outside the restaurant.
Who: Seen in the crowd were Annie Amante, Mauri Oliver, Vicki Rizzo, Neal Hamil, Allie Wood-Rosenberg, Michael Pearce and Matt Burrus, Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen, Deputy Kevin Maples, Yasmine Haddad, Courtney Hopson, Leigh Williams, Jacquie Baly, Robert Eckels, Jennifer Roosth, mayoral candidate Bill King, Corbett Parker, Mary Benton and a slew of law enforcement officials.
