It’s time to shed the layers, and embrace bright colors. Banish the boots, and slip into slides — perfect pedi in tow. It’s time to shop, refresh, and enjoy the sun, something that’s been in short supply these past few months. Retailers and cosmetic companies have heard you, dear shopper, and are ready. Here’s what’s new and coming your way this month.

Decorte’
Japanese cosmetics and skin care line Decorte’ makes its debut at Houston’s Saks Fifth Avenue (currently the only Texas store to carry the line) bringing with it a holistic and scientific approach to cosmetics and skin acre. The family-owned company launched in the United States in 2016 and the company observed cities across the country key to its expansion. Houston, with its diversity, commitment to skin care and glamorous faces, joins Chicago as one to watch and cultivate.

The cult-favorite brand is also tops with Kate Moss, who can’t get enough of Decorte’s Vi-Fusion essence, a lotion and serum made with the highest concentration of Decorté Vi-Fusion, a proprietary blend that strengthens and regenerates the skin. That Vi-Fusion technology at the heart of the skin care line is a result of 30 years of research created with Nobel Prize-winning scientists.

In America, we tend to start with foundation and go from there, but in Japan, foundation is the final step in the process and they feel confident their formula is strong enough to stand up to Houston’s humidity without looking and feeling thick and cakey. While we can’t vouch for the soft cream foundation ($110), we can attest to the pretty power of the Eye Glow Gems, available in 30 colors. The shadows have a spongey quality in the case, but glide on easily and can be layered for a look that’s as subtle or bold as you like.

Tory Burch Pop-Up
Pop on over to the Tory Burch in Nordstrom for the in-store boutique and shop ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, watches, jewelry, sunglasses and Burch's newest fragrance, Just Like Heaven. The exclusive offerings are available through March 26.

Bishops Cut/Color
When we think about Portland, Voodoo Doughnuts, artistic coffee and Portlandia (that One Moore episode never gets old…so say we all) comes to mind. Now we're adding Bishops Cut/Color to the list. The Portland import is opening two salons, one at 3100 Fannin St., and the other at 2522 Yale St. in the Heights.

Bishops is definitely bringing its northwest vibe to the Lone Star State offering haircuts, color, bang and beard trims and deluxe shaves to town. The community-centric chain routinely donates back to the community and minority-owned and embraces differences in everyone. Look for a June opening date.

Paris Texas Apparel Co.
Yes, we all know the adage about Texas and size, and so does Paris Texas Apparel Co. owner Paul Hotze. His brand of ready-to-wear guayaberas, Southern-inspired home goods, barware, luggage, cufflinks, leather goods, graphic tees, and collegiate-themed gifts has grown from Texas-themed silk neckties and bowties, to a full complement of wares. His new 2,700-square foot store at 1341 S Voss Rd. opens March 23, and features a custom wall mural, customer-beloved Lone Star Beer and San Cristobal neon signs and the same sense of humor and hospitality that are hallmarks of Paris Texas Apparel Co.

The Galleria
There’s always something brewing at The Galleria and this month is no different. Among the highlights are MCM’s expanded, 963 square-foot space on Level One. The luxury leather goods store is stocked with handcrafted bags, carryalls, belts, sunglasses and accessories. Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reality TV star, Rasheeda Frost has opened PRESSED on Level 2, a woman’s boutique with on-trend apparel and accessories. Her belief in celebrating Boss Chicks everywhere is an extra bonus.

Tootsies
’Tis the season for trunk shows, and Tootsies style calendar is dotted with two fun, colorful, don’t miss events. PatBO touches down March 21-22 at the store for the first time. The line is new to Tootsies, and brings florals and fresh shapes that beg for a tropical vacation. Mary Katrantzou is hailed as the queen of print and is a favorite among A-listers like Lupita N’Yongo and Alicia Vikander. She brings her vibrant collection March 22-23.

Elizabeth Anthony
It’s time for a closet refresh, and Elizabeth Anthony’s roster of designer trunk shows are bustling with options. If you want to get a preview of Fall 2018, the Roberto Quaglia trunk show is March 21-24, and offers a selection of luxe, ladylike looks. You can meet Quaglia at the store, as he’s in town to meet and greet customers, and present his collection. Piazza Sempione rounds out the month March 29-30.
