One funny lady shakes things up at River Oaks Country Club as champions of caring are honored
Author and speaker Louise Parsley is one funny lady. Just ask those attending the Family Services of Greater Houston annual "Champions of Caring" luncheon at River Oaks Country Club.
She kept the audience chuckling with her wry and witty comments on raising children and then nodding in approval as she shared words of passion about Family Services programs for individuals and families in need.
Dawn Fitzgerald chaired the luncheon that honored three former board chairs — Tom Amonett, Bill Carter IV and Bryan Wimberly. Stepping in as honorary chairs were Tara and David Wuthrich. Fox 26 news anchor Melinda Spaulding served as emcee.
The luncheon group included the honorees' wives Claire Amonett, Jill Carter and Carolyn Wimberly plus Famly Services president and CEO Nyla Woods, Joella and Steve Mach, Gene Graham, Lisa and David Pitts, Carolyn and John Young, Susan and Ron Martin, Joan Lee and Joan and David Dunlap.
