World's richest man joins Becca Cason Thrash in star-studded New York charity spotlight moment
You can bet that it's going to be a stellar evening in Manhattan later this month when the Rock Art Love Foundation honors a handful of international notables including Becca Cason Thrash and Mexico's Carlos Slim Helu, the richest man in the world with wealth estimated at $72 billion.
They will take their bows on March 12 at the Rock Art Love Ball + Art Auction to be held at the magnificent Angel Orensanz Center on New York's Lower East Side. Joining La Becca and Slim will be Mel Young, president of the Homeless World Cup; Israeli-American violinist Miri Ben-Ari and Nancy Lublin, CEO of Do Something Inc.
There's another Houston connection to the evening — fashion designer Cesar Galindo, anative Houstonian, is serving as creative director.
Adding to the star power at this first annual fundraiser is Chef Roblé of Bravo TV's Chef Roblé & Co., who will create the dinner, and CNN's Soledad O'Brien, who will serve as host for the festivities.
Proceeds will benefit the Homeless World Cup, an annual soccer tournament hosted by cities around the world in an effort to educate the public on the issue of homelessness.
