Healthy eating Houston restaurant refreshes downtown with new locale
Downtown office workers have a fresh new option for breakfast, lunch, and happy hour. Adair Downtown, a new establishment from local restaurant group Adair Concepts, has opened in Wells Fargo Plaza (1000 Louisiana St.).
Modeled after its siblings Adair Kitchen and Eloise Nichols, Adair Downtown displays elements from both restaurants on its menu. At breakfast, that means avocado toast, a bowl with forbidden rice and kale, and chicken and waffles. Lunch options include five different salads and bowls as well as sandwiches, burgers, and tacos.
Available from 3-8 pm, the afternoon menu features bar bites such as fried calamari, tuna tartare, and hummus. They can be paired with five house cocktails, beer, or wines by-the-glass or bottle.
In addition to dining in, Adair Downtown features a grab-and-go market that's stocked with both hot and cold food items as well as gifts, cards, and fresh flowers. Similarly, a coffee bar offers a full range of espresso beverages as well as pastries.
Overall, the design is consistent with Adair Concepts other restaurants. The coffee bar features white subway tiles and gray quartz countertops, and wood-paneled walls and leather banquettes give the main dining room a sophisticated air.
Adair Concepts has been a growth spurt over the last year or so. The company opened Betsy's, a casual, family friendly restaurant, in Bellaire's Evelyn's Park at the end of 2018. In August, the company debuted a flagship location of its Tex-Mex restaurant Los Tios in the Tanglewood neighborhood.
