Continental gets fancy new interior lighting: Does it do anything for you?
The new design doesn't change any of the 737's major exterior features, but it does mean LED lighting, larger overhead bins (no comment has been made on what, if anything, this means for baggage fees or gate checks), and "newly sculpted sidewalls."
Vice president of the fleet Ron Baur said, "When customers first step on the plane, they will immediately notice the fresh cabin architecture."
That may be true, but as soon as I make it to my seat, I'm in naptime mode. The person next to me has a much greater effect on my flight quality than the seeming spaciousness of the cabin.
Continental will add several more of the new 737s to the fleet in 2011. Tell us: what are you more concerned with, fuel economy and fees or sculpted sidewalls? Am I just grumpy?
