Ahead of their series against the Boston Red Sox, the Houston Astros have unveiled a special mural at Minute Maid Park. The artwork is designed and painted by prolific local artist Alex Roman Jr. — who goes by the moniker Donkeeboy — and two students from the Art Institute of Houston, Kelly Ledezma and graduate La’Toya Smith.

The piece tells the story of the city's support of the Astros over the years and pays homage to Houston street art. The mural is located in Home Run Alley near center field.

This is the second local mural by Roman Jr.; the first features Jose Altuve and Orbit as subjects of a large piece at a popular Houston watering hole FM Kitchen and Bar.

"I visualized this a few years ago and now it happened," Roman Jr. says of the new Minute Maid Park mural. "I'm just super grateful and excited that I got to do this."
