Crawfish, beer, and live tunes spice up Houston nonprofit's fundraiser
What: The Post Seafood Boil benefiting Vita Living
Where: The Post Beer and Wine Garden
The Scoop: More than 130 Houstonians peeled, pinched, and partied their way through a sun-soaked Saturday at The Post’s annual seafood boil, held March 29 at the buzzing beer and wine garden in the Heights. For the first time, the finger-lickin’ feast served up support for Vita Living, a nonprofit supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Guests dove into 400 pounds of perfectly spiced crawfish — because what’s spring in Texas without a little crustacean celebration? Zydeco Bulls and Saint Judas and The Black Hymns brought the vibes with live sets that had folks toe-tapping between mudbugs and beer refills.
Bryan P. Smith donated custom T-shirts, which were sold on-site to help raise more than $4,000, with a portion of event proceeds still rolling in to benefit Vita Living. Shoutout sponsors Gaille Energy Law and ShawContract, whose support helped power the boil.
Who: Tina Gaille, Michele Marburger, Bobby Shaw, Lauren Mitchell, Matt Thomas, and Jennifer Leal.
