The 411: The orchestra's brass quintet presented two holiday-themed concerts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, complete with traditional seasonal songs and playful stories emphasizing the glory of the season. Providing the musical treats were quartet member Gavin Reed, Ilan Morgenstern, Thomas Hulten, Jason Adams and George Chase.
While the concerts took place in a vividly-decorated party tent in the Diana Garden, the historic museum house festooned for Christmas was open for touring before the music started. Throughout the morning and afternoon guests were treated to champagne, cider and coffee along with sweet treats from Michael's Cookie Jar.
"ROCO and Bayou Bend’s Yuletide partnership makes for a joyful, elegant and festive experience," said Alecia Lawyer, ROCO founder, artistic director and principal oboe. "What a way to start the holiday season!”
Who: Kicking off the holiday season at the concerts were Margaret Lanier, Nancy Bratic, Beverly Denver, Christina Campbell, Jo Ann Ross, Mararet Shilstone, Ann Goldstein, Darleen Denney, Ginni Mithoff, Lori Gobillot and Melissa Hobbs.
