Eleven outstanding women took bows at the Westin Galleria Hotel last week as honorees at the Greater Houston Women's Hall of Fame Gala.
Taking leadership roles in the evening were gala chair Ellie Francisco, Chamber president Suzan Deison, emcee Melanie Lawson and Dana Kervin, Houston Association of Realtors board chair. Houston first lady Andrea White welcomed the room full of supporters.
Taking bows and saluted by video were Margaret Alkek Williams, Zarine Boyce, Rose Cullen, Diedra Fontaine, Linda Lorelle, Gracie Saenz, Galveston Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas, Vu Thanh Thuy, Ileana Trevino, Martha Turner and Maxine Williams. The women were honored for their professional and civic leadership.
Among those applauding their efforts were Soraya and Scott McClelland, Sandy and Dr. Barney Barrett, Joe Colangelo, Donna and Tony Vallone, Mary Ann Reynolds Wilkins and Dr. Bob Wilkins, Danielle and John Ellis, Nancy Ames and Danny Ward.
