A hot comic leaves 'em laughing at star-studded George Bush Presidential Library bash
Known for his good-natured imitation on Saturday Night Live of former President George H.W. Bush, comedian Dana Carvey rocked the packed ballroom at The Houstonian as three generations of the Bush family helped raise funds for the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation.
The former president, Barbara Bush, Doro Bush Koch, Neil Bush and his son, Pierce Bush, welcomed guests that included headliners Yao Ming, Desperate Housewives' dreamy Kyle MacLachlan and Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
The annual Vintner Dinner and Wine Auction featured a variety of great wine finds including a one-of-a-kind 5-litre 2009 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir, etched with the George Bush 25th Anniversary logo, and a bottle of 2009 Yao Ming Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, one of only 25 magnums produced and bottled.
Silent and live auctions added to the funds that will support educational programs at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M and the foundation.
Supporters included Astronaut Gene Cernan and wife Jan, John Williams, Paula and Jim McGrath, Kathy and Andy Card, David Jones, Nel and R.C. Slocum, Cathy and Joe Cleary, Fred McClure and Eric Dunham.
