Aid for more than 1,400 refugees earns high praise at Interfaith Ministries luncheon

The scoop: After resettling more than 1,400 refugees from around the world this year, the non-profit raised $130,000 for its program that meets refugee needs such as furniture, food, clothing and resettlement services including job placement.
Mandy Kao and Habiba Dhanani chaired the luncheon that honored Nihala Zakaria with the 2015 Refugee Services Humanitarian Award. IM board chair Charles Foster served as honorary chair.
The program featured Afghan refugee Zeba Arif-Mohammad who told her story of escape from abuse and poverty.
