Taste of SPA
Society for the Performing Arts supporters get a taste of Houston’s food culture on stage at Jones Hall
The Society for the Performing Arts celebrated Houston’s food culture on the stage of Jones Hall at its third annual Taste of SPA event.
Co-chairs Mignon and Stephen Gill and Margaret and Brian Bravo, along with over 200 attendees, were treated to a lively conversation, hosted by emcee Ernie Manouse of Houston Public Media, with culinary talents David Cordúa of Cordúa Restaurants, Ashley Griffith of Ashley Cakes, and Aaron Webster of Drexel House.
Free-flowing cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, courtesy of several Houston eateries, including 11 Below Brewery, B+B Butchers & Restaurant, Bistro Lancaster, Blackbird Foods, Izakaya, Morningstar, Phoenicia, and Uchi, helped satisfy guests like Theresa and Edward Mallett, Stephany Olsen LeGrand, Crystal and Randy White, Miki Lusk Norton, Michael Chu and Emily Kuo, C.C. and Scott Ensell, SPA CEO June Christensen, Elizabeth Vail, Ronel Golden, Lance and Robin Deutsch, Kimberly Miller, and Theresa Einhorn.
The evening raised over $40,000 for programs at SPA, which has been presenting a wide array of performing arts in Houston for over 50 years.
