Tea time in a River Oaks manse hauls in a tidy profit, helps future musicians
What: The University of St. Thomas Performing Arts Society membership tea.
Where: The River Oaks home of Mary and Tony Gracely.
The 411: Part membership tea, part fundraiser, this event drew more than 170 guests including a fare share of gents, not regulars on the afternoon tea circuit. Susan Osterberg and Kusum Patel chaired the afternoon social that enjoyed the presence of UST president Bob Ivany and Houston Symphony CEO Mark Hanson and Houston Ballet's C.C. Connor.
The event honored Marie Bosarge and Rose Cullen. By the time the teapots were emptied, the event had raised close to $36,000 for scholarships.
Who: Performing Arts Society chairs Leisa Holland-Nelson and Barbara Van Postman plus Marianne Ivany, Diane Lokey Farb, Laura Codman, Donna Vallone, Vickie West, Omana Abraham, Marie Wise and David Harvey.
