What happened in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas: A private gambling trip pays offfor Texas Children's
It might seem like a crazy idea — load up a plane of Houstonians, head to Las Vegas and hold a casino party for charity. But that plan has actually been a slam dunk for Texas Children's Cancer Center since Linn Energy CFO Kolja Rockov came up with the idea.
The 2012 Casino Night in Vegas hit the jackpot, raising more than $400,000 to fund treatment and research.
They tried their luck at blackjack and craps, danced to the sounds of a DJ and feasted from food stations and a dessert bar.

Rockov initiated the Casino Night at the Houston Downtown Aquarium in 2009, took it on the road to the Nautilus Ballroom at the Kemah Aquarium in 2010 and then headed for Vegas last year.
Joining the second annual Casino Night in Vegas were Texas Children's Cancer Center director Dr. David Poplack, Roxanne Rockov, Fran and Keith Buchanan, Annette and Doug Liftman, Kristin and Rick Brice, Autumn Hugo, Ryan Munro, Mari Ono, Sheryl and Kevin Smith, Nameer Siddiqui and loads more. Just think — partying in Vegas with 100 of your best buddies!
