Dress for Success celebrates 15 years of changing women's lives and their clothes
It was a program outside and a party inside as Dress for Success Houston celebrated 15 years of helping women get a stronghold in the workplace through both wardrobe and career counseling.
Before heading inside the sleek Dress for Success headquarters on Eastside Street, the 360 guests joined in recognition of founding board members, those who helped launch the organization in 1998, including Sharon Bush, Sylvie Crum, Susie Cunningham, Sukey Fenoglio, Berthica Fitzsimons, Ethel Hutcheson, Nancy Levicki, Kirby Cohn McCool, Trish Morille, Flo Crady Newton and Roseann Rogers and the late Bobby Sue Cohn and Larry Jones.
The two-tiered party, which raised more than $420,000, was chaired by Lindsay Holstead, Fitzsimons and McCool. Joining in the night's organization as culinary coordinators were Karen Lerner, Rachael Volz and Paige Branam, all of A Fare Extraordinaire.
They handled the mammoth task of coordinating the contributions of some of the city's leading female chefs — Brandi Key, Claire Smith, Monica Pope, Anita Jaisinghani, Mary Cuclis, Rebecca Masson, Samantha Mendoza, Annie Rupani, Frances Walsh and Haley Ray. So you can guess that this party food was scrumptious.
Once inside the building, guests were entertained on the first floor by NYC DJ Kalkutta and by songbirdKristine Millson the second floor.
The party crowd included emcee Mia Gradney of KHOU Channel 11, Joan and Stanford Alexander, Sylvie and Gary Crum, Clarence Cazalot, Linda Webster, Marie Louise Kinder, Kristy and Chris Bradshaw, Lindsey Brown, Mary Patton, Carrie Carson, Virginia and Dan Steppe, Bo Hopson, Scott McCool, Morton Cohn, Hugh Fitzsimons and Lyn Jones.
