A Latin groove: Tacos y Tacones keeps the dance floor hopping while packing afundraising punch
Mango Punch kept the dance floor of the Hilton Americas-Houston reverberating as more than 500 supporters of The Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA) celebrated the organization's 42 years of serving Latino families in Houston.
By the time the auction, the appeal and the music concluded at the Tacos y Tacones gala, AAMA coffers were enriched by more than $420,000, funds that will help continue the work of inspiring and empowering individuals of Latin heritage to succeed.
Headliners on this night were chairs Martha and Deme Navarro, honorary chair John Nau AAMA president and CEO Beatrice Garza and emcee Phillip Mena of KPRC Channel 2.
The partying throng included Laura and Rick Jaramillo, Corina and Armando Perez, Cyndy Garza Roberts and Thomas Roberts, Victor Garza, Judy and Wayne McConnell, AAMA board chairman Raul Dominguez and wife Dolores, Thuy and Trung Doan, Roland Rodriguez and Lisa and Juan Alonso.
