Women of Distinction
At last, Women of Distinction honorees unveiled in glam style and it's a surprising mix
Two months before the official announcement of the ABC KTRK Channel 13 Women of Distinction, one excited husband slipped me the word that his wife was one of the honorees. "I'm so proud," he said. "I just wanted to let you know."
Now it can be told as the women of accomplishment that will be presented at the 2016 Winter Ball were announced in glam style in the couture salon of Saks Fifth Avenue. Channel 13 news anchor and former Woman of Distinction Melanie Lawson did the honors. The ball benefits the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.
Taking bows at the January 23 "Age of Aquarius" ball at the Hilton Americas-Houston will be Gina Bhatia, Estela Cockrell, Gina Gaston Elie, Lisa Holthouse, Mady Kades, Dee Dee Marsh, Paula Mendoza, JoAnn Petersen, Barbara Van Postman and Lynn Walsh. Phoebe Tudor has been tapped as 2016 Ambassador for her long-standing commitment to making Houston a better place for all and Bradlee Few will serve as youth ambassador.
Sisters-in-law Jana Arnoldy and Susan Arnoldy Hansen will chair the gala.
The party crowd included Saks GM Bobby Dees and wife Wezy, Beth Wolff, Bill and Joanne Crassas, Elizabeth and Alan Stein, Carolyn Farb, Liz Rigney, Wallis Marsh, Dr. Devinder Bhatia, Tom O’Connor and Leisa Holland-Nelson.
