Fashion flock dig in their heels to fight breast cancer at Stiletto Strut
It was an early start to the weekend for the fashion flock that perched in the shoe salon of Neiman Marcus on Saturday, well before the doors opened to the general public. But those who set their alarms for this semi-sunrise fundraiser were rewarded with a yummy champagne breakfast, silent auction offerings and plenty of retail therapy.
Early start notwithstanding, more than 200 fashion-savvy gals dressed up and stepped out in their finest four-inch Loubies and the like for the annual "Stiletto Strut," benefiting the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine.
Jane Parker and Judy Smith chaired the benefit that traditionally begins at Neiman's with food and frolic and then moves, the ladies en masse, into the Galleria for a short strut in the name of breast cancer research.
NM GM Bob Devlin hosted the gathering that was emceed by KHOU Channel 2 news anchor Dominique Sachse and featured Dr. Emily Sedgwick as guest speaker.
The fashionistas on parade included Rachel McNeill, Shannon Parker, Coco Mahoney, Noelle Jahncke, Susie Burton, Gabrielle Dieste, Lacy Baird, Stella Baird, Barbara LaGrange, Cora Sue and Harry Mach and event honoree Brenda Love.
