Fab gowns and fine art collide in high-style collaboration at Neiman Marcus
When the planets align, why not have a joint party? That timing would be the inspiration behind the "Fine Art of Fashion" bash that found Neiman Marcus and the Houston Fine Art Fair joining hands for an evening of fashion and art.
Paintings from several galleries set to show in the Sept. 18-21 event were on display throughout Neiman's second floor designer salons where the artwork was combined with fabulous gowns.
After perusing the fashionable art and sipping on bubbly, close to 300 high-style guests sat down for a fashion presentation of what you might call fall's greatest hits. As Neiman's Stacy Swift explained of the show, "This is not what's trending right now. These fashions are just beautiful things that we wanted to share."
Co-hosting the champagne-laced evening were Neiman's GM Bob Devlin and HFAH chair and gallery owner Deborah Colton.
Soaking in the glory of high fashion were guests including Anita Webber Smith, Jackson Smith, Rosemarie Johnson, Neal Hamil, Valerie and Tracy Dieterich, Derrick Nash, Joselyn Thomas, Jared Lang, Amir Taghi, Jennifer Ramos, Deborah Elias, Jonathan Glus and Alton LaDay, Jacquie Baly and Parissa Mohajer.
