An exclusive Fashion's Night Out party takes a painterly approach withstar-power gowns at Neiman Marcus
While the Galleria was hopping with myriad Fashion's Night Out activities, Neiman Marcus took its party semi-private with an Art of Fashion evening that saluted this weekend's Houston Fine Art Fair.
HFAF was co-sponsor of the evening that found the store filled with contemporary art canvases, a hint at the creativity to come when the curtain goes up on the fair at Reliant Center on Friday. Taking their turn in the spotlight before the catwalk presentation were art fair advisors Janet Hobby and Melissa Grobmyer, who gave a spirited preview of what organizers will soon become a "Mini-Basel on the Bayou."
While there were various beauty and fashion activities throughout the store, the focus was on the runway where Neiman's presented its Art of Fashion runway show featuring top fashion picks for fall. Among them were the star-power gowns of designer Catherine Deane, who joined Neiman's GM Bob Devlin for the presentation. Houston-based designer Jerri Moore made the scene as well.
Gallery owners Deborah Colton and Wade Wilson were in the mix as were artists Justin Garcia and David Graeve.
After the fashion show, guests were invited into the store's Mariposa cafe for do-it-yourself gourmet s'mores.
