Crowd Shops 'Til Drops
With 26 boutiques to choose from, crowd shops 'til they drop at Labor Day luncheon
With 26 local boutiques such as BB1 Classic and French Cuff presenting their wares in tempting pop-up shops at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, it was game on for shoppers at the 12th annual Labor Day Luncheon & Style Show sponsored by the Woman's Hospital of Texas and benefiting the March of Dimes.
Close to 500 women and a sprinkling of young children joined the merry luncheon throng as they perused the Boutique Bazaar. New to the event was Ashley McClellan, recently appointed CEO of the Woman's Hospital.
Once the ladies settled in for lunch, the program was all about fashion with image and style consultant Rebecca Matthews sharing wardrobe tips and Todd Ramos showcasing fall fashions with a runway show starring Page Parkes models. There were furs, fringe and more from resources including Dao Chloe Dao, Woody's Furs and Lucho.
Medical focus of the event was the March of Dimes Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Family Support Program at the Woman’s Hospital, the only such unit in the city.
Supporters included emcee Gina Gaston, Chelsea Adam, Carolyn Shaffer, Elizabeth Abraham, Maria Lowery, Kristi Bradshaw, Karina Barbieri, Janet Landry and Marty Lund.
