Baccarat and backpacks make for unusual bedfellows at back-to-school soireé in the Galleria
No one who knows the deliciously flamboyant Alex Martinez was surprised when he tapped the glitzy Baccarat boutique in the Galleria for his second annual "Back-to-School Supply Drive." What was surprising was the wealth of colorful school stuff piled high alongside crystal chandeliers, sparkling vases and dazzling candelabra.
Martinez and his co-chair Debbie Pakzaban and their guests toasted the back-to-school bash with champagne served in trés cher Baccarat crystal flutes. Sweet. A nice thank you for guests who brought in more than $6,000 worth of school supplies for Yellowstone Academy. An extra bonus: One generous donor contributed more than 50 computers for the school's students.
Chef Charles Clark joined the party via his sumptuous bites, prepared in the Ibiza kitchen and delivered to the boutique.
Savoring this rich moment were Yellowstone executive director Ryan Dolibois, David Arpin, Christine and Matt Tabrizi, Dr. Peyman Pakzaban, J. Michael Soliz, Kim Padgett, Alison Bell, Matt Burrus, Connie Kwan Wong, Dr. Essa Kawajaand Diana Martinez and Cindi Rose.
